Our Services for Veterans

What differentiates our cremation services for veterans from those of other cremation providers? Affordability aside, it's our experience and expertise in dealing with the three facets of veteran's cremation care:

  1. Thorough and timely completion of documents related to obtaining military and social security death and burial benefits, in addition to the completion of the death certificate and all required permits related to cremation and transportation of the deceased.

cremation for veterans paperworkDoes anyone really like dealing with government paperwork? Ferreting out important information, completing required forms, checking boxes; adding dates and signatures–it can all be a real hassle. And when you're grieving the recent passing of a loved one, a "hassle" is the last thing you want or need. That's one reason why we include the completion of all paperwork required to apply for death-related veterans' benefits in our cremation services for veterans. When you turn to us, you'll gain the advantage of our years of experience in securing death and burial benefits for the honorably discharged veteran in your life.

  2. Private cremation performed by certified crematory operators in a process governed by proven identification and verification measures.

In short, our crematory standards not only exceed state cremation requirements; they surpass those set in place by other cremation providers. These exemplary standards form the foundation of all our crematory operational processes, each of which ensures your loved one will be cared for in a respectful, dignified manner, by highly-trained cremation professionals. 3. Coordination with federal and local veterans' organizations for the performance of military honors at the funeral, memorial service, or at the time of committal in the cemetery of your choice.

military cremation ceremonyIt's not enough to file all the required paperwork to obtain military benefits and honors; arrangements must be made (some with federal agencies and some with local veterans' groups) for full military honors in the setting of your choice. And should you wish it, we will make all arrangements for a military service and burial of your veteran's ashes within the grounds of a state or national veterans' cemetery.

What Benefits are You Entitled To?

It's understandable; there's some confusion about what death and burial benefits an honorably-discharged veteran is entitled to receive.

Under existing guidelines, the Veterans Administration will pay for any burial or funeral expenses on a reimbursement basis. While the U.S. Veterans Administration does not directly pay for cremation services for veterans; it is possible to obtain anywhere from $300.00 to $2,000 to cover burial expenses.

For those veterans desiring the burial of their cremated remains in a national cemetery; benefits include a grave site, the opening and closing of the grave, a headstone or marker, burial flag, and a Presidential Memorial Certificate. (However, if burial in a private cemetery is preferred, benefits can include headstone or grave marker–or a decorative medallion for an existing headstone or marker¬–a burial flag, and the memorial certificate.)

Of course, we'll take care of all the benefit application details; but if you'd rather apply for death and burial benefits privately, you should know you can apply online using the Veterans Administration eBenefits website.

For those honorably-discharged U.S. veterans desiring the burial of their cremated remains in a national cemetery; benefits include a gravesite, the opening and closing of the grave, a headstone or marker, burial flag, and a Presidential Memorial Certificate. However, if burial in a private cemetery is preferred, benefits may only include the Government headstone, marker or medallion, a burial flag, and the memorial certificate.
