Here's More of the Story

We'd like to illustrate how our firm continues to build on a strong four-legged foundation of social responsibility. Following the description of a socially-responsible (or "good") company found on the Wikipedia page, "Corporate Social Responsibility"; our firm expresses the qualities of this socially-responsible foundation in four ways:

First, they adhere to clearly defined polices to reduce environmental impact of their business practices. We have always cared deeply about this community, and continue to do what we can to preserve its natural beauty and ensure the highest quality of life for those living here. This includes reducing electrical consumption wherever and whenever possible, recycling office supplies and other items; and completing regularly scheduled maintenance on our corporate vehicles to meet existing pollution emission standards.

Second, a "good" business enriches its community by designing, contributing to, or otherwise supporting educational and social programs. Our goal is to raise awareness of end-of-life issues, thereby increasing understanding of their funeral options, the consumer-related protection provided to them by the Funeral Rule; the value of planning ahead, and the importance of ceremony in healthy, purposeful grieving.

Third, they focus on earning adequate, fair returns on the resources they employ. Our firm has been guided by the concept of fair value and reasonable pricing since we first began serving our community. We comply with all fair trade laws affecting cremation and funeral service, including the Federal Trade Commission's Funeral Rule.

Fourth, a "good" business contributes to the greater good by putting attention and energy into philanthropic or volunteering activities. We're rather pleased to tell you our profession is characterized by a "giving" mindset; every day funeral directors around North America devote countless hours in the service of the greater good. Our directors are no exception; in fact each member of our staff, from licensed funeral directors to those working in administration and support, devotes time to chosen charitable causes.
